Judy Maxine Jones was born on V-E Day, May 8, 1945, at the hospital in Tilden, NE, the daughter of Dale Everett and Darlene Maxine (Binger) Jones. Judy was always pleased about the fact that she was born on the actual day of Victory in Europe during WWII. Dale was serving in the United States Army at the time of her birth and did not get home to meet her for several weeks. She was baptized November 7, 1948 at the Antelope Creek Methodist Church, rural Elgin, NE. She was confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1956 at the Methodist Church, Royal, NE. She transferred her membership to the Oakdale United Methodist Church on May 15, 1966. Judy grew up on farms in Antelope County attending Rural Schools Dist. 20 and Dist. 78. She graduated from Neligh High School with the class of 1962. At the age of 14 Judy began working as a Nurse's Aide at Neligh's Antelope Memorial Hospital for 60 cents per hour. She was employed at the hospital for many years. She remained a faithful friend of Antelope Memorial Hospital serving as a volunteer for several years in retirement. On July 12, 1964, Judy was united in marriage with Michael Allen Wagner at the United Methodist Church in Royal, NE. They began their married life on a farm southeast of Oakdale farming and dairying with Mike's dad, Lewis Wagner. In 1968 they moved to the Hotaling Family Farm (Mike's grandparents') north of Elgin, NE where they farmed until Mike's death on July 17, 2004. Along with farming, they were Dekalb seed dealers for approximately 20 years. Michael and Judy are the parents of two children, Rohn Michael born in 1966; and Liane Lynne born in 1970. After Mike's death Judy continued to live on the family farm. She kept busy with activities of her two granddaughters, Stephanie Lynne Bode and Sara Michelle Bode, and also with activities of the Oakdale United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed the yearly quilt making for the church's senior graduates. Judy was also a special influence on friends on their own faith journey. On August 2, 2014 Judy was united in marriage with Raymond Allen Olson at the Grace Community Church in Norfolk, NE. They made their home together on Judy's farm near Elgin. Judy was diagnosed with cancer in September, 2015. Along with her faith, her husband was a source of strength during this battle with cancer. Judy passed away April 19, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, Nebraska surrounded by her family. Judy is survived by her husband, Raymond Olson of Elgin, NE; son Rohn and friend Teresa Hernandez of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter Liane and husband Ronnie Bode of Elgin, NE; granddaughters Stephanie Bode and Sara Bode of Elgin, NE; brother Gary and wife Donna Jones of Neligh, NE; niece Cindy and husband Neil Werkmeister of Tilden, NE; great-nephews Jesse Werkmeister; and Jacob and Traci Werkmeister and their children, Grady and Marlee all of Neligh, NE; uncle Darrell Binger of Plainview, NE; Raymond's sons, Randall and wife Jayne Olson and their daughter, Rylee of Norfolk; Ryan and wife Cindra Olson and their sons Brennon, Raymond and Samuel of Virginia Beach, VA; and Russell and wife Tracey Olson and their sons Andrew and fiancée Meagan Drahota, Dylan, Isaiah, and Jadon all of Norfolk, NE; sister-in-law Barbara (Olson) and husband David Allen of Lyons, CO; and brother-in-law Alvin and wife Janie Olson of Clearwater, NE.
