Funeral Services for Richard "Dick" Kallhoff, age 84 of Ewing, Nebraska will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Ewing, with Father John Norman, Officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Sander's Post #214. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, December 8, 2017 with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Dick went to Heaven Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill, NE. Arrangements are being conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial may be directed to the Ewing Fire and Rescue Department or to the family for future designation. Richard Dean Kallhoff was born in Deloit Township on November 15, 1933 to Garrett and Marie (Bazelman) Kallhoff. As a toddler his family moved to his life long home six and one half miles Southwest of Ewing. After his service to the United State Army, Dick returned home and continued to farm until his retirement. On October 8, 1957, Dick married Bonnie Jones at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Clearwater. They are the parents of four daughters, Jody, Jan, Jill, and Jerri. After his retirement from farming Dick and Bonnie spent their winters in Texas. He enjoyed his Fridays with his good friends, Denny and the boys at the feed store in Ewing. He also enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and spending his winters in Texas with Bonnie. Dick's favorite pastime was spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, at the cabin on the creek. Dick is survived by daughters: Jody (Denis) Bergstrom of Ewing, Jan (Mike) McNichols of O'Neill, Jill (Earl) Hipke of O'Neill, and Jerri (Kyle) Beyea of Gothenburg; grandchildren: Lindy (Seth) Stauffer, Dustin (Jamie) Bergstrom, Danae (Nate) Perry, Marcus McNichols, Morgan Butzman, Tony (Emma) Hipke, Tyler Hipke, Kaylee and Kylee Beyea; great-grandchildren Braxton and Tate Stauffer, Harper and Hudson Perry, and Amelia Hipke. Sisters Delores (Don) Jensen of Alamo, TX and Mary Ann Blecher of Omaha, NE. Brother, Jerome (Jean) Kallhoff of Norfolk, NE. Dick was preceded by his wife Bonnie; parents, brother Donald, and brother-in-law Bill Blecher.
