Sandra Fay Carlson

Funeral Services for Sandra F. Carlson age 73 of Neligh will be 10:30 am Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Neligh, with Pastor Bob Dainton, Officiating. Burial will be in Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE.  Sandra passed away April 27, 2016 at her home in Neligh surrounded by her family. Sandra Fay (Fryer) Carlson was born on February 7, 1943 at Tucson, AZ to Lawrence Fryer and Luella (Burch) Salber. She attended Norfolk High School graduating with the Class of 1960. After graduating she attended Norfolk Junior College until her marriage. On December 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to Raymond Carlson in Norfolk, NE. She worked at Neligh-Oakdale Schools as a cook for over 16 years. She did the bookwork for the family carpet and floor covering business since 1972, and she also taught Sunday School. She enjoyed time at their cabin at the creek, reading, crocheting, cooking, baking/canning, collecting Elvis memorabilia, dog statues, and dolls. She especially like spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Neligh American Legion Aux Post #172. She is survived by her husband, Children: Shari (Dwight) VanOstrand of Orchard, NE, Kevin (Gayle) Carlson of Royal, NE, Lauri (Greg) Luchsinger of Columbus, NE, Angela (Mike) Wingert of Plainview, NE, and Kaylynn (Jeremiah) Harder of Fremont, NE. 16 grandchildren: Joel VanOstrand, Brandi VanOstrand, and Shane VanOstrand all of Orchard, NE. Jessica Barone of Royal, NE, Justice Carlson of Wausau, WI, Brittany Oswald of Allen, NE. Madeline Franks of Kearney, NE, Shandy Carlson and Alena Luchsinger both of Columbus, NE. JacLyn Wingert, Jacob Wingert and Jaden Wingert of Plainview, NE. Chasity Harder, Kaleb Harder, Braydin Harder, Ainsly Harder, and baby Harder expected in September all of Fremont, NE. 6 great grandchildren: Kelsie and Aubrie Wingert, Isabella and Rocky Barone, Emberlynn Pollack, and Cassidy Oswald. Mother, Luella Salber of Norfolk, NE. Sisters: Wanda (Wendell) Muhs of Norfolk, NE, Phyllis (Nolan) Crandall of Norfolk, NE, and Rita (Darryl) Rudolph of Norfolk, NE. Preceded in death by her grandparents, father, step father, and infant son, Dale Ray.
