Funeral Services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 10th at the St. Pauls Catholic Church in Plainview, NE. Burial will be in the St. Paul/ St. Ignatius Cemetery in Plainview. Connie died May 5, 2011 at the Plainview Hospital.
Constance (Connie) Adele Plugge was born in Schuyler NE. to Edward and Adella Vrzak on January 11th 1933. This is where she lived and in Omaha until meeting and marrying her husband Jack and eventually moving to Arlington NE.
Connie worked outside the home in a diverse range of occupations. Starting as a one room school teacher, Keypunch operator for Union Pacific, then on to Owning and operating a Bar and Grill in Wausa Ne. with her husband, being a nurses aid and medication aid in nursing homes in Wausa Norfolk and Stanton, finally retiring from Dale Electronics in Norfolk NE. as a line supervisor.
Connie enjoyed first and far most doing things with her husband Jack. Next in line of her favorite things were her grandchildren. But took equal enjoyment in going to numerous sporting events including Nebraska Football games. Also, enjoyed high school sports watching her children play in the events, camping trips, and weekends at their summer cabin on the Missouri River by Niobrara NE.
Connie was an active member of the St.Paul's Catholic church. Held officer positions on the St. Paul's alter society (vice president), and on the cemetery board. She was a Parish Council member, OACC delegate, and a Plainview Area Health System board member.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband Jack Plugge May 19th 1995, a baby son in 1965, her parents Edward and Adella Vrzak, her father in-law Albert and mother in-law Wilma, brother in-law Robert and sister in-law Gladys, and one grandchild Kelly Elizabeth Plugge in October 24th 2010.
She is survived by her 3 children Christine Proskovec and her husband Joe of Plainview, Robert Plugge and his wife Peggy of Norfolk, and Patrick Plugge of San Antonio TX., 3 grandchildren Jordan Plugge (son of Bob and Peg)of Norfolk, Matthew Plugge (son of Bob and Peg)of Kearney, and Jacob Proskovec (son of Chris and Joe)of Hastings.Also, her sister Joanne Hanus and her husband Larry Hanus of Lincoln NE., and numerous nieces and nephews.
