Susan Marie Emory (Plainview)

Plainview — Susan M. Emory (Walton), 64, of Plainview died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview. Services will be at 1p.m. Sunday at Plainview United Methodist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating and burial following at Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.

Susan was born March 11, 1947, in Plainview to Donald and Ruby (Ickler) Walton. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1965. After attending the Lincoln School of Commerce, Susan worked as a bookkeeper most of her adult life.

Susan lived in Plainview and worked at the Plainview Public Hospital until she fell ill last year. She was a member of Stark Valley Methodist Church and later Plainview United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her parents Don and Ruby Walton of Plainview; 2 brothers and 1 sister; Don and Jeanne Walton of Asheville, NC; Gary and Judy (Walton) Brooks of Tea, SD; and Gary and Charity Walton of Stuart, NE; 2 daughters and son in-laws, Mark and Angie Gleason of Westfield, IN and Rick and Cindy Watson of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Susan cherished her 4 grandchildren, Levi, Rebecca, Bailey, and Kaylee and her dog Bandit.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Thompson.
