Warren Lingenfelter , 88, passed on to eternal rest on Saturday evening, October 20th at the Plainview Manor with family at his side. Funeral services for Warren George Lingenfelter will be held on Wednesday, October 24th, 11:00 AM at the Plainview United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday October 23th, from 4 to 7 PM at Ashburn Funeral Home.
Warren Lingenfelter was born May 20, 1924 across the road from his home place 1 mile south east of Plainview. He was the youngest son of five children of George and Elsie (Koester) Lingenfelter. He graduated from Plainview Public School in 1942. He was a member of the National Honor Society. On December 11th, 1949 he was united to Janis Johnson of Wausa, enjoying over 62 years of marriage.
Warren enjoyed farming and feeding cattle at the home place southeast of Plainview for his entire life. Warren and Janis moved to town in 1988, but he continued to help on the farm. He served on the Plainview Board of Education for 16 years. He was once a member of the American Cattlemen’s Association. He served on the Pierce County Zoning Board for several years. He was an active member of the Plainview Methodist Church for over seventy years. He loved being with family on birthdays and holidays and cherished his time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Janis, sons Lyle (Dianne) Lingenfelter of Plainview, Ron (Bette) Lingenfelter of Norfolk, daughter Jane (John) Shafer of San Antonio, Texas and daughter-in-law Deb Lingenfelter of Norfolk. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Chad (Cindy) Lingenfelter of Arlington Ne., Colby (Angie) Lingenfelter of Phoenix AZ , Calvin (Christina) Laible of Lincoln, Jennifer (Paul) Riordan of Wisconsin, Nick (ReBecca) Lingenfelter of Plainview, Ryan (Lisa) Lingenfelter of Elkhorn NE, Carolyn Laible and friend Jim of Omaha, Amber (Brian) King of Norfolk, Lacey Lingenfelter of Omaha, Josh Lingenfelter and fiancé Rayna of Omaha, Ashley Lingenfelter and friend Preston of Norfolk, and Natalie Lingenfelter of Plainview. He is also survived by 16 great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and one brother in law Delmer Neubauer of Osmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kim, brother Dale, and sisters Norma, Garnet, and Doris.
