MARGARET ELVIRA WEHENKEL, daughter of Marion Mader and Lulu Bell (Knight) Mader was born March 15, 1918, at Farnam, NE.

Margaret graduated from Plainview High School in 1935. On January 27, 1940, she married Ranold Archie Wehenkel of Orchard. The couple was blessed with four daughters: Karen, Randi, Pam and Connie. After making their home in Orchard for several years after marriage, they moved to a farm at Plainview in 1944. They returned to Orchard in 1947 and made their home on the family farm northwest of Orchard where they lived and farmed until retiring in 1979 when they moved into a home in Orchard. Margaret continued living in Orchard until the time of her death.

Margaret spent time crocheting many, many beautiful afghans. Over the years her friends and family have been the recipients of these wonderful creations by Margaret. Other favorite activities include reading, involvement with the United Methodist Church in many ways and activities, and a number of community Bible Studies over the years. Margaret’s sweet spirit and friendship will be missed by many.

Margaret is survived by her four children and their spouses: Karen Mott (Dennis) of Tulsa, OK; Randi Brozek (Jim) of Lake Jackson, TX; Pam Hahn (Glenn) of Orchard, NE; and Connie Carpenter (Lon) of Grand Junction, CO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
