Funeral services for Bernice Kudera, 91, of Plainview will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Plainview.
Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery near Plainview, and visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Bernice Kudera was born to Lloyd and Elenora (Block) Mathine on November 16, 1923 and died on January 20, 2014 at the Plainview Manor.
She graduated from Center High School in 1941.
On June 25, 1942 she married Leonard Kudera at the Lutheran parsonage in Hartington. The couple farmed and then purchased the East End Service and trailer court in Plainview.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five infant brothers and sisters; brothers: Walt Mathine and Vernon Mathine and brothers-in-law: Stanley Kudrea and Merle Thelen.
Bernice Kudera is survived by her five children: Marilyn Kudera of Cedar Bluffs; Jerry Kudera and wife, Ann, of Norfolk; Ron Kudera of Plainview; Mary Huntley and husband, Ken, of Columbus; and Dennis Kudera and wife, Denise of Norfolk; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Betty Kudera of Plainview and Jeanelle Thelen of Seward; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Mathine of Bloomfield and Lola Mathine of Estherville, Iowa; and special family: Liz Romanoff of Plainview and Linda Busby of Cedar Bluffs.
