Marvin E. Krohn (Osmond)

February 4, 1921 — September 7, 2015

Funeral services for Marvin Emil Krohn, age 94, of Osmond, will be held Friday, September 11th at 11:00 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond with visitation held one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with military honors conducted by Osmond American Legion and V.F.W. Marvin passed away September 7th, 2015 at the Heritage of Bel-Air Nursing Home in Norfolk.

Marvin Emil Krohn was born February 4, 1921 northwest of Osmond, the son of Emil and Emma (Wiese) Krohn. He was baptized March 13th, 1921 and confirmed March 3rd, 1940 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. He was a World War II veteran and entered the Army in November of 1942. He served in Europe and the USA in the 11th armored division in Patton's 3rd Army. Marvin was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He was married June 8th, 1949 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce to Marceline Koehn. Five children were born to this union. They farmed northwest of Osmond until retiring to Osmond in September of 1986. Marvin was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he had formerly been an elder, trustee, and school board member. He had also been a member of the Osmond Golf League for 27 years and the American Legion.

Marvin is survived by his wife Marceline; three daughters and husbands: Jean Vaught of Norfolk, Carole and Joel Stutts of Colorado Springs, CO, Gail and Kirk Hawkins of Omaha, and one son, Larry and wife Linda Krohn of Osmond; five grandsons, three grand-daughters, and one great grandson.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Raymond, Harold, and Elvin), three sisters (Verna, Irma, and Meldene), and an infant daughter, Janice Lea.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Orphan Grain Train, the Osmond Immanuel Lutheran Church, LCMS World Relief, and Lutheran Hour Ministry.
