Donna Mae Gansebom (Osmond)

July 18, 1931 — May 27, 2016

Donna Mae (Pedersen) Gansebom, 84, Osmond, died peacefully May 27th, 2016 at Faith Regional Health Services surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 5-8 pm May 31 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osmond. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am June 1 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Glen Emery officiating.

Donna, daughter of Alfred and Ida (Berger) Pedersen, was born on the family farm near Plainview and baptized into the Catholic Faith. She was the second daughter of three and thoroughly enjoyed her sisters and farm life. She attended District #17 Country School through 8th grade and graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. After graduation, she took normal training and taught country school for 2 years.

She married the love of her life, Vernon Gansebom, June 1, 1950 and became a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osmond. The couple was just a few days short of their 66th Anniversary. This union was blessed with four children, Dan, Diane, Carole and Wayne.

Donna was a farm wife who loved to cook, bake and garden. She took great pride in her lawn, garden and all her beautiful flowers. Vernon and Donna traveled extensively. They toured many European countries as well as most of the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and Mexico.

Their youngest son, Wayne, was the constant focus of her life. She thought of him in everything she did. Donna was a member of Arc of Nebraska and People First. Both are organizations that support the mentally challenged.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon, Madison, NE; sons, Dan (Deanna) Gansebom, Osmond; and Wayne, Madison, NE; daughters, Diane (Randy) Lamprecht, Hornick, IA; and Carole (Denny) Kirby, David City, NE; 4 grandchildren, Chad (Shelly) Gansebom, Suamico, WI; Kristin (Dave) Wortman, Lincoln, NE; Jason (Renee) Lamprecht, Smithland, IA; Jaclyn (Will) Acosta-Trejo, Omaha, NE; 2 step- grandchildren, Lynn Sabatino, West Chester, NY; Mark (Tina) Kirby, David City, NE; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Delores Wurdinger, Stanton, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy and her brother-in-law, Don Wurdinger.
