Helen Louise Baird (Brunswick)

Services for Helen Louise (Green) Baird age 90 of Bellevue, NE formerly of Brunswick, NE will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday June 14, 2016 at the Community Church in Brunswick. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Monday at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview with burial in the Brunswick City Cemetery. Helen passed away June 10, 2016 at the at the Hillcrest Hospice ad Health and Rehab in Bellevue, NE.

She was born January 5, 1926 at Lynch, NE to Dr. Carl and Lula
Green. She graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1944 and the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in 1949.

She married Arlo Baird of Brunswick, NE in 1950 and helped on the farm, as needed. Helen was a Registered Nurse who worked almost her entire career at the Plainview, NE Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1991. She was an active member of the Brunswick Community Church, participating in the church choir and Ladies Aid (Missionary Society). After her husband's death in 2010, Helen moved to Bellevue, NE.

Helen loved to read and continued to read novels and several newpapers up to the day that she fell ill. She was also an ardent Nebraska football fan and followed the team faithfully.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Arlo, and is survived by son David (Barbara) Baird and daughter Jane (Robert) Larsen, grandson John Baird, and sister Betty Kennedy. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.
