Funeral Services for Arthur Clyde Anderson age 79 of Creighton will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 6th at the United Methodist Church in Creighton. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the Church. Art passed away October 1, 2017 at the Creighton Care Center.
Arthur Clyde Anderson passed away peacefully at the Creighton Care Center on Sunday October 1, 2017. Art was born to Clyde and Jean Anderson (Davies) in Norfolk Nebraska on July 2,1938. He was raised in Bloomfield, Nebraska and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1956. After graduation Art enrolled as a reserve in the Navy and attended midland Lutheran college in Fremont for 1 year, but decided that it wasn't for him and transferred to the Missouri School of Mines. While at the Missouri of Mines he went active duty for the Navy and was an active member until 1961 when he married his "beautiful bride". Art wed Jane Schwanke on July 8, 1961 in Mankato,Minnesota.
Art and Jane moved to Bloomfield, Nebraska after being married and ran Anderson Insurance and marketed with Crockett insurance Agency for 41 years. Art then transitioned into his second career after feeling called to be a pastor and eventually became an ordained minister serving many area churches. Art found great joy in preaching and leading people of all ages to Christ. Through his careers he became known and loved by many. He was involved in many community and church organizations and events. Arthur even decided to go to clown school and become a professional clown to "add something" to community and church events. Arthur was not only known for his wisdom but also for his sometimes smart Alec comments and contagious sense of humor. Through out Art and Janes marriage they were blessed with 2 children Greg and Lesa Anderson and 3 grandchildren Tiara and Taryn Wamberg and Ian Anderson.
Arthur was proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Jean Anderson and his brother in law Dave Bristol.He is survived by his "beautiful bride" Jane Anderson, his children Lesa Anderson and special friend Brian Wagner and Greg Anderson, his siblings Mary Bristol and Jim (Grace) Anderson, his grandchildren Tiara(Avery) Chrastil, Taryn Wamberg and special friend Clayton Thompson, and Ian Anderson.
