Donald Eugene Wright (Plainview)

Funeral services for Donald Eugene Wright age 82 will be held Friday Oct. 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Plainview with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation for Donald will be 1 Hr. prior to service at the United Methodist Church in Plainview. Donald died Oct. 26, at the Plainview Manor.

Donald was born Christmas day 1926 at his Great Grandparents, Norton and Emma Wrights on the farm. Donald attended school through the 8th grade and later in 1944 enlisted in the Navy before his 17th birthday. Donald was discharged in 1946. In 1950 Donald was called back to duty to serve his country for another 16 months before being discharged in 1952.

Donald and Mardell Grubbs were united in marriage July 24, 1947. To this union four children were born. Larry, Terry, Donelda and Donald Dale.

Donald was a member of the Plainview American Legion. He was a well kown face at the Plainview City Light Plant for 35 years. It was well known by family that if the city's lights would blink twice Don would go back to the Light Plant to make sure the lights would be back on.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Marion; Grandmother, Maggie; Great Grandparents, Norton and Emma; a half brother Clifford and two infant Grandchildren.

Surviving Donald is his beloved wife, Mardell; his three sons Larry, Terry, and Donald Dale his daughter Donelda Hansen; 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Granchildren; half sisters Winona and Sandy and half brothers Preston, Gerald and Lonell.
