Alice A. Brookhouser (Brunswick)

Funeral services for Alice A. Brookhouser age 86 of Brunswick will be held at 2 PM. on Monday Nov. 16, 2009 at the Brunswick Community Curch.  Burial will be in the Orchard Hill Cemetery.  Visitation for Alice will be from 4-8 PM. at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview on Sunday Nov. 15, 2009.  Alice passed away Nov. 12, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh.
Alice A Brookhouser was born on March 10, 1923 to Agnes and Fred Hanneman and grew up on a farn near Brunswick, NE. She went to District 61 country school and graduated from Brunswick High School. On May 15, 1944 she married Hugh L. Brookhouser and lived in various parts of the United States while he was in the army. They farmed near Orchard until 1951 when they moved to a farn near Brunswick. Alice was a loving, giving and caring mother of five boys: Lynn, Glen Ray, Terry, Mark and David.
Alice loved the Lord and was a member of the Orchard United Brethren Church and the Brunswick Community Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Missionary Society. Alice enjoyed cooking and making family, friends, and new acquaintances feel welcomed, cared for and full of her delicious food.
On November 12, 2009, Alice went to be with the Lord and with those who preceded her in death, including her husband, her sister, her infant son, Glen Ray and a special grandson, Blake.
Alice is survived by four sons and their spouses: Lynn and Debra Brookhouser of Tilghman, ME; Terry and Pat Brookhouser of Brunswick, NE; Mark and Colleen Brookhouser of Brunswick, NE; David and Sheryl Brookhouser of Junction City, KS; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
