Perry Winfield Adams

Funeral services for Perry W. Adams 93, of Creighton will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton, NE. Burial will be in the Hope Enterprise Cemetery in rural Orchard. Visitation for Perry Adams will be from 5-7 P.M. Friday, January 26, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. Ashburn Funeral Homes were in charge of arrangements. Perry passed away at the Creighton Care Center January 22, 2018

Perry was born on Sept. 4, 1924 in rural Orchard to parents Perry O. and Frances (Stoltenberg) Adams. Perry was baptized at the United Brethren Church in Orchard, NE and graduated from Creighton High School with the class of 1942. After high school he worked with his father on the family farm. On May 29, 1945 Perry married Helen (Knuth) at the American Lutheran Church in Creighton, NE. To this union, two sons and two daughters were born.

Perry and Helen farmed on the family farm for 32 years. In 1977, they moved to Western Nebraska where Perry worked at the Nebraska Extension Cattle Research Facility in Scottsbluff, NE. In 1981, the couple moved to Johnstown, CO where Perry worked for Monfort Feed Yards until he retired. In 2000, they moved to Plainview, NE to be closer to family. Perry then moved to Bruce Park Terrace in Creighton in December of 2013 where he enjoyed coffee time every morning with all his friends at Bruce Park. Perry and Helen enjoyed many years of camping and traveling around the states, going South in the winter. He was also a life time member of the Masonic Lodge for 75 years.

He is survived by his children; Scott (Mary) Adams, Ross (Vicki) Adams and Jane (Ed) Wilmes; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents, Perry O. and Frances Adams; an infant sister Marie; one daughter, Cindy; and two sisters Dorothy Walton and Esther Johnson.
