Marlin (Butch) Babutzke 87 of Plainview passed away on Monday, February 19,2018 in Plainview, Ne.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23,2018 at the United Methodist Church in Plainview.
Reverend by Gary Merritt will officiate. Inurnment will be held at the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill with military honors by the O'Neill American Legion Post#93 of O'Neill.
Memorials are suggested to the family with a designation to the Disabled Veterans.
Marlin (Butch) was born February 18,1931 in Page, Ne. to William & Theresa(Snowardt) Babutzke. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Marlin was United in marriage to Lucille Nekolite on July 9,1957. They had four children & resided on a farm near Page. He was a farmer until he retired. For a brief period he did carpentry work. He was an active member of the O'Neill Legion.
After losing Lucille he met Barbara Harmon & they was married on July 10,1993. While living in Plainview he worked for the City of Plainview.
He enjoyed polka dancing, bowling, traveling, working on old red tractors, his family & grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter Susan Sobotka and fiance's Randy Ward, son Bill Babutzke and his wife Anita, daughter Mary Reyes. Sister-in-laws Yvonne Babutzke and Pat Babutzke. Five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and special friend Marlene Bowling.
Proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, son Victor, brothers Leo and Larry, and Barbara.
Honorary pallbearers are his Grandchildren.
