Betty J. Kudera (Plainview)

November 19, 1928 — February 21, 2018

Funeral Services for Betty J. Kudera age 89 of Plainview will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 27th at the United Methodist Church in Plainview. Visitation for Betty will be held Monday from 4-7 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Plainview. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview. Betty Kudera passed away February 21, 2018 at the Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Betty Jane was born November 19, 1928 to Lloyd and Eleanora Mathine at their home near Bloomfield, Nebraska. She had 2 brothers, Vernon and Walter, 2 sisters, Bernice and Jeanelle, and 5 other siblings who died in infancy. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1945, then took Normal School training and started teaching at a country school.

On February 24, 1950 she married Stanley Kudera at the United Methodist Church in Plainview, Nebraska. To this union, 8 children were born, Gordon, Roger, Karen, Randy, Donna, Janet, Linda, and Pamela. Betty stayed home with her children while Stanley farmed.

Betty and Stanley lived on the farm northwest of Osmond until Stanley became ill in 1988, and moved into Plainview. Betty was devoted to taking care of Stanley during his illness until his death in December of 1989. She was a caring and strong woman that always nurtured others and lived in her home until her death.
Betty cherished her relationships with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading the newspapers, playing cards and bingo, going to the casino, and dancing. She loved helping her friends from the Plainview Social Center and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her children, Gordon (Gloria) Kudera, Roger (Marilyn) Kudera, Karen (Rich) Dillman, Donna (John) Killion, Janet (Eric) Bremers, Linda (Roger Sutherland) Greve, and Pam (Eric) Hansen, daughter-in-law Nancy Kudera, 25 Grandchildren and 23 Great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, grandson David, and her son, Randy.
