Alice Darleen Miller

Funeral Services for Alice D. Miller, age 91 of Ewing, Ne will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Cornerstone Bible Church in Orchard, NE with Pastor Troy Watson and Duane Johnson, Officiating. Burial will be in Ewing City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE. Alice passed away on February 10, 2017 at Alpine Village. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorialfh.com Memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Bible Churchin Orchard or Alpine Village in Verdigre. Alice Darleen Miller was born on July 5, 1925 to Elza and Ruby (Hindman) Wolfe. She attended Ericson High School and graduating with the Class of 1942 and was the Valedictorian. Then she received her teaching certificate. Alice taught at District 60 Greeley County. On March 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Walter Miller at her parents home in Ericson, NE. In 1956, they welcomed into their home Daniel Walter to start their family. The family grew by two, in September 1961 when Linda and Donna came to live. In 1963, their family was completed with the addition of Ruth Darleen. They farmed southeast of Ewing their entire life. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, singing, teaching piano and Sunday School. She was a 4- H leader and member of Jolly Worker Club. But most of all she enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren about Jesus. She was member of Evangelical Free Church in Orchard. She is survived by her children: Linda (Mike) Chaney of McPherson, KS; Donna (Tom) Arehart of Orchard, NE; Daniel (Jan) Miller of Ewing, NE; and Ruth (Mark) Hawk of Elkhorn, NE. 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 65 years, grandson-in-law Mark Mullins; and sister, Eileen Johnson.
