Bernice Mary Schindler

Funeral Services for Bernice Schindler age 83 of Neligh were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with Father Mark Mckercher officiating. Burial was in the St. Anthony�s Cemetery rural Ewing. Pallbearers were Mike Laursen, Kevin Christiansen, Jason Riley, Scott Schindler, Brock Chohon, and Jeff Riley. Honorary Pallbearers were Kaylinn Nienhueser, Matt Laursen, Chris Laursen, Sonia Rittscher, Dan Schindler, Matt Schindler, Leah Schindler, Jamie Baumert, Mollie Schindler, and Katie Schindler. Music was provided by Roxanne McNally and Nick Ramold. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Snider Memorial Funeral Home with 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. She passed away Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Neligh Nursing Center. Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater is in charge of the arrangements. Bernice Mary Schindler was born May 24, 1923 at Ewing the daughter of John and Mary (Bauwens) Tagel. She grew up in the rural area south of Ewing and attended rural school. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John�s Catholic Church of rural Clearwater. On April 3, 1945 she was united in marriage to her husband of 61 years Earl W. Schindler at St. John�s Church. The couple made their home on a farm south of Ewing until 1991 when they retired and moved to Neligh. Bernice was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of St. John�s Christian Mothers prior to moving to Neligh. Bernice enjoyed gardening, her flowers and friends. She liked watching Legion baseball. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a smile to her. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Music was always a part of her life. Survivors include her husband Earl of Neligh, 6 children: Diann Laursen of Stephenville, TX, Gloria and Brian Christiansen of Neligh, NE, Brenda and Ron Riley of Grand Island, NE, Greg and Vicki Schindler of Mesa, AZ, Rebecca and Ken Chohon of Yukon, OK, and John Schindler of O�Neill, NE: 18 grandchildren: 14 great-grandchildren: a brother Ludwig Tagel of Grand Island, NE; an aunt, Laura Schindler of Neligh, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law Richard (Dick) Laursen.
