Funeral services for Cecil Clouse age 82 of Bartlett were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at United Methodist Church in Bartlett with Pastor Delano Cunningham, Officiating. Music was provided by Beth Clouse. Burial was in the Bartlett Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aaron Clouse, Brent Clouse, Rick Clouse, Jerry Clouse, Mark Enslow, and Randy Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers were Dale Dallegge, Jim Miller, and Merle Anderson. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 23, 2011 at United Methodist Church in Bartlett. Cecil passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Cecil Loyd Clouse was born on June 11, 1929 at Martin, South Dakota to Fredrick and Helen (Haggerty) Clouse. At the age of 4 he moved to Nebraska to live with family in Spalding area. A short time later he moved along with his parents to the Beaver Valley area northwest of Bartlett, Ne. Cecil attended country school and graduated from Wheeler County High School in 1946. He was united in marriage to JoEllyn Hertel on March 26, 1949. They moved to their home north of Bartlett where he resided until his death. While in school he became interested in woodworking and made his first set of custom cabinets while still in high school. Following graduation he pursued his hobby and built a construction business. He built and remodeled many home in the Wheeler County and surrounding area along with continuing to build custom cabinets. Cecil also ranched running a cow/calf operation at his home. Cecil enjoyed watching football, making wood crafts and visiting at the local sale barn during sales days. Cecil is survived by his wife JoEllyn of Bartlett, NE, 2 sons; Kenneth and wife Beth of Springfield, NE; David of Ericson, NE, 4 grandchildren; Ali Clouse of Omaha, NE, Aaron Clouse of Lincoln, NE, Brent Clouse of Springfield, NE, Abby and husband Mark Enslow of Gillespie, IL; 1 great-grandson, Brayden Enslow along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter; Carol Clouse-Griffith, one brother Bernard "Bus" Clouse.
