Funeral Services for Charlotte A. Beyer age 83 of Neligh, NE were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father John Broheimer, Officiating. Music was provided by Jane Ruterbories and Roxanne McNally. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, NE. Pallbearers were Brian Schueths, Jonathan Schueths, Ian Beyer, Matin Beyer, Nathan Palmer, Chris Beyer, and Joe Lichty. Visitation was 4 to 6 pm, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh then resumed at 6:30 pm at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with a 7 pm Rosary Service. Charlotte passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, Ne. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Charlotte Ann Beyer was born on May 26, 1930 to Lyle and Viola (VanPelt) Newlon at St. Paul, Ne. She was raised in Palmer until moving to Grand Island during WWII. She graduated from Grand Island High School in 1947 and attended college at Kearney for one year before going into Nurse's training at Lincoln General Hospital and graduated in 1951 as a register nurse. She worked as a RN in a doctor's office in Lincoln General Hospital. She married Joe Beyer on August 28, 1954 in Lincoln, Ne. They lived in Lincoln and Bloomfield, and Weeping Water where Joe was a Funeral Director. They moved to Neligh in December 1967, where Joe worked for Hoepfinger Funeral Home which he later bought and their son, Andy later took over as Beyer Funeral Home. She worked at Antelope Memorial Hospital as an RN charge nurse and was a director of Quality Assurance. Before retiring she worked as a Canteen nurse at the Red Cross Blood Mobile for many years. She was active in many organizations, Willows Executive Board, Hospital Auxiliary, Birthday Club, and Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, served on the parish council, and a board member of the Willows. Charlotte loved to traveling all over the world. She is survived by 4 children: Vanessa and husband Dave Schueths of Gering, Ne, Doug Beyer of Papillion, Ne, Jeff and wife Cindy Beyer of Duncan, OK, and Andy and wife Tricia Beyer of Neligh, Ne. 11 grandchildren: April Schueths (Nate Palmer), Brian (Meg) Schueths, Jonathan Schueths, Chris Beyer, Angie Beyer, Meghan Beyer, Kelsey Beyer, Ben Beyer, Ian Beyer, Marty Beyer, and Danielle Beyer. 4 great grandchildren: Lilly Palmer, Isaiah Simon, Harley Ann Beyer, and Markell Beyer. Sister, Lyla Kay and husband Donald Holst of Bellevue, Ne. Preceded in death by her parents and husband.
