Clara Hope Coy

Graveside Service for Clara Coy age 82 of Neligh, NE will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2020 with Pastor Robert Moore, Officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Long Pine, NE. Clara passed away April 18, 2020 at Arbor Care in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.


Clara Hope Coy was born May 13, 1937 at McDaniels KY to Charles Smith and Nola Ann McCarty. She attended school and grew up in Kentucky. She spent some time with a sister in Ohio where she met Gordon Coy and married him on July 25, 1961 at Madison, NE. They lived a short time in Ohio, Norfolk, Atkinson, and Oakdale. She took care of several older people in their homes and did some babysitting for a number of children. Gordon and Clara always enjoyed their dogs, both large and small. They were married almost 51 years. After Gordon passed away in 2012, Clara remained in her home in Oakdale until December 23, 2014 when she went to live in the rest home in Neligh, Ne. She always enjoyed visiting with people and drinking her Pepsi. Her health remained fairly good until about the last six weeks. In May, she would have been 83.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her sisters, Maggie and Sarah and her brother John.
Survived by a sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews.
