Funeral Services for Clifford Soto age 96 of Neligh, NE will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father John Broheimer, Officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, NE. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with a 7 pm Vigil Service. Clifford passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Plainview Manor in Plainview, Ne. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Clifford Paul Soto was born June 29, 1918 to parents Paul and Lena Soto in Los Banos, CA. and raised by his stepmother Augustina Soto. We use the word 'step' to be politically correct, however, as Cliff always treated and loved Augustina as his own mother. He taught her to bake and cook some of the most amazing dishes. He married Dorothy Sonnenfelt at St. Mary's Cathedral at Grand Island, NE on May 28 1947. To this union two children were born: Gail and Richard. Clifford spent most of his life in the military serving his country. Living in various locations across the United States and ending as a 1st Lieutant. He then married Virginia Steskal April 2, 2011 in Neligh, NE. He is preceded in death by: his parents Paul and Lena; stepmother Augustina; a younger brother Farnum Soto; son, Richard Soto; and grandson Rick Soto. He is survived by: Virginia Soto; Gail and Mike Zoski of Cheyenne, WY; Sisters - Darlene Kowal FL; JoAnn Nieto and Linda Soto of CA; and many grandchildren and nieces and nephew too numerous to mention. His legacy and love as a husband, father and brother will be greatly missed.
