Funeral Services Corlyss M. Parr, age 89 of Neligh, NE were 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013 at United Methodist Church in Neligh with Pastor Fay Hubbard, Officiating. Music was provided by Jill Bates, Organist. Soloists were Deb Carden and Jerry Odell. Visitation was from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, at the Church in Neligh. Arrangements are conducted by Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home, in Neligh, NE. Funeral Service were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at United Methodist Church in Woodbine, IA with burial in the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, IA. Pallbearers were Colby Parr, Dylan Bestenlehner, Troy Salerno, Taylor Novak, Dave Samler, Dennis Wiese, and Isaac Parr. Corlyss passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE with her family with her. Arrangements in IA will be by Fouts Funeral Home.

Corlyss Maxine Parr was born on February 23, 1924 to William and Anna (Waite) Shephard in Magnolia, IA. She graduated with the Class of 1942 from Pisgah High School in Pisgah, IA. On August 25, 1957 she was united into marriage to Ivan Parr in Little Sioux, IA. To this marriage they had 3 children, Patricia Ann, Russell Dean, and Linda Kaye. She was a daycare provider, cooked, cleaned houses, and was a seamstress for Village Dress Shop. She enjoyed watching birds, gardening, and sewing. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neligh, NE.

She is survived by her children, Patricia & husband David Samler of Omaha, NE, Russell Parr of Neligh, NE, and Linda Hendrix and Dennis (Skippy) Wiese of Norfolk, NE. Grandchildren: Colby Parr, Dylan Bestenlehner, Tara Salerno, and Taylor Novak. 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, her siblings, Ralph and Lucille Shephard and Clarence and Mildred Shephard. Great granddaughter, Angelina Salerno.
