Funeral services for Edward A. Thiele age 59 of Omaha were at 10:30 am Saturday, February 21, 2009 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Clearwater. Music was provided by Rita Kester, Organist; Bob Kester, Soloist; and the St. Theresa's Choir. Pallbearers were Tim Kester, Tom Kester, Kenny Parks, Tom Parks, John Moser, and Terry Bahl. Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Thiele, Leon Thiele, Mike Thiele, Gary Thiele, Andy Thiele, Wayne Thiele, and Mark Thiele. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was from 5:30 to 8:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2009 with a 7:30 pm Wake service all at the church.

Ed passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Omaha, after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Edward Andrew Thiele was born November 17, 1949 to Andrew and Helen (Graboski) Thiele at Clearwater, Nebraska. Ed grew up in the Clearwater area and graduated from Clearwater High school with the class of 1968. He attended University of Nebraska in Lincoln. On May 24, 1975 he was united in marriage to Carol Langemeier at Yankton, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Clearwater and Ed worked at Knievel�s Fertilizers plant in rural Ewing from 1975 until 1988 when they moved to Omaha and Ed became manager at Farm Service Coop in Pacific Junction, IA. Ed enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Carol: Children; Robbie, Ryan and wife Donna, and Nathan all of Omaha, Eric and Nicholas both of Las Vegas, NV: Daughter; Christina and husband Mike Swantek of Papillion, NE: Grandchildren; Tyler Swantek, and Nolan Thiele; 7 brothers: Larry and wife Marsha Thiele of Glenndale, AZ, Leon and wife Jan of Omaha, NE, Mike and wife Cheryl of Lincoln, NE, Gary and wife Mary of Clearwater, NE, Andy and wife Janet of Bensalem, PA, Wayne of Clearwater, NE, and Mark and wife Kerry of Omaha, NE: 2 sisters; Kay and husband Steve Clifton of Eden Prairie, MN, and Janet and husband Ryne Seaman of Seward, NE: many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Helen, Sister Renee Middleton, nephew Jonathan Middleton: 3 brothers in laws, 1 sister in law, and his parents in laws.
