Evelyn M. Hinze

October 19, 1925 — February 18, 2004

Evelyn Marie (Olson) Hinze age 78 of Clearwater passed away February 18, 2004 at her daughters home in Clearwater. Funeral services were Monday, February 23, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Feusse officiating. Pallbearers were Shannon, Scott, and Jason Jacob, Chance Cook, Shawn, Brett, and Brandon Hemenway. Honorary Pallbearers were Michelle & Matt Wright, Chellie Cook, Jennifer, Amber, and Laura Hemenway, and Trish Potter. Music was provided by Bob Kester soloist and was accompanied by Sherri Ahlers organist. Music selections were �Lord�s Prayer�, �On Eagles Wings�, �Go Rest High On the Mountain� and �Help Me Say Good-Bye�. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8:00 P.M. Sunday February 22, 2004 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Evelyn was born October 19, 1925 at Oak, NE the daughter of John and H. Elizabeth (Dahl) Olson. She attended and graduated from Nelson High School in 1942. She then moved to Hastings, NE and was employed at the Ammunition Silos and Caf�. On November 8, 1943, she married Jeff Hinze at Hastings, the couple then moved to Denison, IA and opened up a car hop diner and she also assisted her husband in his tree service business. In 1959 the couple moved to Clearwater, NE and owned and operated Clear Lanes- Bowling Alley. The couple later divorced and she operated the Hiway Caf� and later cooked at the L-B steakhouse in Clearwater, in 1976, she moved to Tilden to cook at the Branding Iron Steakhouse. She retired in 1994 and moved back to Clearwater and took up the hobby of wood-crafting, attending craft shows and gardening. Survivors include three daughters, Mikki Bouchard of Omaha, Carla and Eli Jacob of Clearwater, Kathy and Marv Kallhoff of Gainesville, TX; a sister Arlene Whitley of Lincoln, NE; a brother Howard (Evie) Olson of Nelson, NE; 7 grandson�s , 3 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; and 5 step great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wendell, sister Shirley, a grandson Chad Cook, and 2 sons-in-laws Dan Hemenway and Mike Bouchard.
