Funeral services for Gary Snodgrass age 69 of Clearwater, Ne were 10:30 am, Monday, August 4, 2014 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Toni Nolze, Officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thiele. Military Rites were conducted by Chambers American Legion Post #320. Pallbearers were Craig Fairley Jr, Ty Gartner, Keith Sandall, Roy Klabenes, Roger Klabenes, and Rodney Klabenes. Most Honored Honorary Pallbearer: Lois Snodgrass. Honorary Pallbearers were Ashley Sandall, Michael Fairley, Cristian Fairley, Caleb Fairley, Royce Fairley, Tate Gartner, Evan Fairley, Lizzie Gartner, Craig Fairley Sr, Todd Gartner, Richard Hoffmann, Krista Snodgrass, Presley Bierman, George Klabenes, Donald Klabenes, Eugene Snodgrass, Ron Snodgrass, Omer Hoffman, and Jan McKillip. Visitation was Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Gary passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Arrangements are being conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.

Gary R Snodgrass was born on June 13, 1945 to Orville and Lois (Denney) Snodgrass in Tilden, NE. Gary grew up and went to school in Creighton NE until his senior year of high school where the family had moved to the farm North of Clearwater and that is where he graduated from School with the Class of 1964. Gary enlisted in the Army National Guard May 25, 1964 in O'Neill, NE, did his training in Ft. Jackson South Carolina and did his AIT in Ft Polk, LA and discharged on May 24, 1970. On October 2, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sherry Klabenes in Neligh, NE. From this union they had three daughters and together they farmed north of Clearwater for many years until he retired from farming in 1984, at that time Gary was a self-employed truck driver hauling feed. In 1986 the family moved to town in Clearwater and Gary started working for Antelope County Road Department in 1988 until retiring in 2009. He then was a helping hand to many friends and family on their farms and ranches. He enjoyed farming, fishing with his family, rodeos, snowmobiling, horseback riding and woodworking. Gary drove a stock car in races for a little while which he would pull the cars out of the trees and get them ready to run. Gary enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren along with going to as many activities he could attend of his daughters and grandchildren. Raising a family in a small community, Gary was known to many of his daughters friends has a second dad, and even a second grandpa to many of his grandchildren's friends. Gary spent many years helping at the Clearwater Rodeo in the roping area; which he had recruited his grandchildren to help over the years. Survived by his wife, Sherry, Children: Colette Fairley & husband Craig Sr. of Wichita KS, Andrea Gartner & husband Todd of Chambers, NE, Kittina Sandall & Richard Hoffmann of Burke, SD. 11 grandchildren, Craig Jr, Michael, Cristian, Caleb, Royce and Evan Fairley, Ty, Tate and Lizzie Gartner, and Ashley and Keith Sandall. His mother Lois Snodgrass of Neligh, brother Eugene Snodgrass & wife Renee of Clearwater, niece Krista Snodgrass and great niece Presley Bierman of Battle Creek, NE and many nieces, nephews, friends and family Proceeded in death by; father Orville, father-in-law and mother-in-law George & Louise Klabenes, son-in-law Steven Sandall, and nephew Dustin Snodgrass.
