Harlan E. McCoy age 64 of Orchard passed away at his residence Saturday, April 8, 2006. A private family service will be held at a later date. Harlan was born May 13, 1940 at Trading Post, Kansas to Charles E. and Minnie (Noah) McCoy. He grew up and went to school at Boicourt school in Zillah, Washington. On November 12, 1959 he enlisted into the United States Navy at Seattle, Washington. On October 21, 1963 he transferred to the U.S. Navy Reserve in Bainbridge, Maryland and was then discharged from the Naval Reserve on November 11, 1965 at San Diego, CA. He then worked as a electrical maintenance engineer at Peralta Community College District. On July 19, 1997 he married Janet Bishop at Cave Junction, Oregon. On July 19, 2005 the couple moved to Orchard, Ne were they retired. Harlan loved to play his guitar, sing and write country western songs. Survivors include his wife Janet of Orchard, children: David and Tony McCoy both of Hayward, CA, Thomas D. Harrison and Michael Harrison both of Lexington, VA, Jefferie and Cristin Harrison of Ewing, NE, a granddaughter Mary Helen McCoy and a grandson Raiden Lee Harrison. 2 brothers: Bob McCoy of Zillah, WA, Donald McCoy of Grandview, WA, 5 sisters: Pansy Purdy of Zillah, WA. Ruby Tackett of Yakima, WA, June White of Las Vegas, NV, Sharon Peppeninger of Pleasonton, KS, and Zola Feasel of Orchard, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rosa Jean Graham and a brother Charles E. McCoy, Jr.
