Celebration of Life Service for Ida Mae Chance age 90 of Neligh, NE will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at Calvary Bible 54869 525th Ave, Neligh, Nebraska) with Pastor Peter Sample, Officiating.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service on Friday morning at Calvary Bible Church.

Burial will be at Menno Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 in Menno, SD.

Ida Mae went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2019 Arbor Care Center in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Ida Mae was born June 5, 1929 in Webber, KS to Walter Sr. and Helena (Mettler) Fair. The family later moved to Menno, SD where Ida Mae was raised.

Ida Mae and Bill Chance married August 22, 1948. They later moved to Carthage, SD in 1960 where they farmed many years, and raised their family. Ida Mae retired as a cook from the Menno Olivet Care Center, Menno, SD before moving to Neligh, NE.

Ida Mae is pre-deceased by her parents, the father of her children, Bill Chance, her brother, Frank Fair, and her grandson, Joshua Reed. She is survived by her six children, Carla Reed, of Liberty Lake, WA, Denton (Jennifer) Chance of Letcher, SD, Dennis Chance (Darlene Larson) of Lake Preston, SD, Lois Moe of Carthage, SD, Brenda Newman (Jeff) of Antioch, CA, and Gary Chance (Peggy Connot) of Neligh, NE. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Twylah Hertz of (Hill City, SD) and her brother Water Fair Jr. (Norma) of Menno, SD., and her dear friend Carol LeBeau of Neligh, NE. as well as by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Ida Mae leaves a Legacy of Love. She loved her Lord Jesus with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. She loved her family, extended family, numerous friends, and her church. She gave of herself unselfishly serving, praying, encouraging, and giving to others. She had great words of wisdom, a tremendous sense of humor, and loved to share life stories. She will be greatly missed. Let us live out her Legacy of Love that she gave us.
