Leona Fern Siems, 93, of Clearwater, Nebraska passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Funeral Services were 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Neligh with Pastor Kay Alnor officiating. Pallbearers were Marty, Mason and Alex Siems, Austin, Adam and Leslie Alitz, Kyle and Ashley Haake. Music selections were �In The Garden,� �I Was There To Hear Your Borning Cry,� and �Precious Lord Take My Hand� provided by Bob and Rita Kester . Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation was 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Leona was born May 1, 1911 at Neligh, Nebraska, the daughter of Roll and Susie (Miller) Bentley. She graduated from Neligh High School in 1930. She married Robert Siems on April 11, 1933 at Albion, Nebraska. They made their home in rural Clearwater area where they farmed. Robert passed away January 11, 1989 at Omaha, Nebraska. Leona was a 50 member of the United Methodist Church in Neligh. She loved gardening, her livestock, milking cows and most of all her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Gary and his wife Caroline Siems of Clearwater. Three grandchildren: Becky and her husband Dave Alitz of Rock Port, MO, Tammy and her husband Darin Haake of Harlan, IA and Marty Siems of Clearwater, seven great-grandchildren: Austin, Adam and Leslie Alitz of Rock Port, MO, Kyle and Ashley Haake of Harlan, IA and Mason and Alex Siems of Clearwater. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, and a brother Lyle and his wife Marge Bentley.
