Funeral services for Lewis E. Jones age 75 of Clearwater were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Sharee Johnson, Officiating. Music was provided by Caroline Jaeke, Organist and Les Oleson, Soloist. Pallbearers were John Damme, Todd Damme, Tony Damme, Pat Damme, Roger Hornback, and Shane Wright. Honorary Pallbearers were Mark Hornback, Merold Claussen, Rich Wright, and Ed Taulbee. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Military Rites was conducted by the American Legion Post #267 of Clearwater. Visitation was from 4 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Lewis passed away October 1, 2008 at Faith Regional in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Lewis Ernest Jones was born on April 22, 1933 to Harold and Luellen (Schober) Jones in Chambers, Nebraska. He graduated from Clearwater High School in 1951. Lewis was enlisted into the United States Army May of 1953 at Omaha, Nebraska and discharged on May 5, 1956 from Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He was united into marriage on October 29, 1961 to Ilene Hornback in Spencer, Nebraska. Lewis had many occupations being a farmer, carpenter, bus driver, and truck driver. Lewis worked for Heartland Builder but most recent was working for John Damme Construction. Lewis enjoyed fishing, reading, and hunting.

He is survived by: his Wife, Ilene; Children, Carrie and husband Edward Taulbee of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mary Ellen and husband Rich Wright of Yankton, South Dakota; five Grandchildren, Caroline Droescher, Courtney Droescher, Alyssa Wright, Shane Wright, and Cheyanne Taulbee; Sister, Bonnie and husband Dick Kallhoff of Ewing Nebraska; and five Nieces.

Preceded in death by his Parents; his brother, Donnie Jones; a nephew, Gill Jones.
