Funeral Service for Mary Lou Wagner age 78, of Neligh formally of Orchard were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with Rev. John Broheimer , officiating. Music was provided by Jane Ruterbories, Organist and Roxanne McNally, Soloist. Burial will be at the Park Center Cemetery rural Elgin. Pallbearers were Joe Wagner, Jeremy Wagner, Mike Babel, Kent Sellin, Dan Wagner, and Joel Schreier. Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mary Lou passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE. Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater is handling the arrangements.

Mary Lou Wagner was born on December 13, 1931 to Peter and Louisa (Moritz) Rasmussen in Elgin, Nebraska. She attended Elgin High School graduating with the class of 1949. Mary Lou went on to attend Norfolk Junior College. On October 10, 1951 was united into marriage to Matt Wagner at St. Boniface in Elgin, Nebraska. The couple made their home on the farm south of Creighton. In 1990 they moved to Orchard after retiring from the farm. She has resided in Neligh for the last 6 years. She belonged to Helping Hands Club in Creighton, Lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary # 1151, Samba Card Club. She loved to shop, enjoyed cooking and serving delicious food. She attended many auctions and increased her collections of knick knacks and cookbooks.

She is survived by her children; Linda and her husband Dave Riesberg of Lincoln, NE, Gerald “Jerry” and wife Deb Wagner of Ewing, NE, Bruce Wagner of Orchard, NE, and Marsha and husband Craig Hart of Clearwater, NE. 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Brother-in-law, Lawrence and his wife Donna Wagner of Crofton, NE; Herman and his wife Colleen Wagner of Norfolk, NE; Bill Schreier of Verdigre, NE.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandsons, Jonathan Joseph Wagner and David Riesberg Jr. 2 sisters in infancy.
