Funeral services for Mildred E. Kent, Denney, Harriman age 91 of Stromsburg, Ne formerly of Clearwater were at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Alston Rasmussen officiating. Music was provided by Geraldine Kent organist and Marla Svehla soloist sang �He The Pearly Gates Will Open.� The congregation sang �In The Garden� and �Softly and Tenderly.� Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles and Christon Rasmussen, Jerral, Lawayne, and Ryndon Svehla, and Brian Kent. She passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Covenant Cedars Nursing Home in Stromsburg, NE. Funeral arrangements were conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home. Mildred was born April 16, 1914 the daughter of Leonard Olwin (Ollie) and Agnes (Bare) Todd on a ranch in Garfield County. The family later moved to the farm northeast of Clearwater. Mildred attended Grecian Bend School with her brother, Orlando, as did her mother before her and her children after her. She graduated from Neligh High School in 1931. Mildred married Lloyd West, the son of Oren and Bessie West on March 31, 1935. They had a double wedding with Lloyd�s sister, Madge and Omer Huston in the West home. To them were born four children; Wanda, Kerwin, Denton, and Rosemary. Mildred accepted the Lord as her Savior as a young mother and taught her children to �Trust and Obey� Him. Mildred and Lloyd were divorced in 1945 and she and her children moved to the farm near Grecian Bend. She and her family were active in the Fairview Sunday School until 1956 when she moved into Clearwater. She married James Denney in 1956 and they were active in the Church of Christ there. Jim passed away in 1962. Mildred married Ezra Harriman in 1976 and after his death she moved to Holdrege to live near Rosemary and her family. She lived there for 17 years and attended the Evangelical Free Church and lots of family get-to-gethers. Her next home was in Bentonville,AR. For three years near Wanda�s and Denton�s families before returning to Nebraska the Covenant Cedars Nursing Home in Stromsburg where she resided until her death. Mildred enjoyed sewing, gardening, bible studies and reading as well as being with her family. Survivors include two daughters: Wanda and her husband Alston, of Stromsburg, NE, Rosemary Svehla and her husband, Tony of Holdrege, Ne, two sons; Kerwin and his wife Gerry of Pender, NE, and Denton and his wife Dianne of Bentonville, AR. She has 11 Grandchildren: Charlyn, Charles, Christon, Jerral, Lawayne, Ryndon, Rynette, Brian, Viann, Scott and Holly and their spouses. She has 27 Great Grandchildren: Heather, Tim, Eric, Amy, Joe Jeff, Jeremy, Beth Emily, Ethan, Solomon, Tamara, Sarah, Austyn, Brittnye, Shelby, Megan, Brody, Kina, Karissa, Daniel, Dylan, Erin, Ben, Alex, Mitchell, and Amber. She has 5 Great-greatgrandchildren: Preston, Shelby, Courtney, Shawn, and Alexis. She is survived by her brother Orlando Todd of Neligh. She was preceded in death by her parents. Our Mother and Grandmother was much loved and will be missed much.
