Prayer Services for Steven RIx age 65 of Clearwater, NE will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE with Pastor Bob Dainton, Officiating. Military Rites conducted by Clearwater American Legion Post #267. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home. Steve passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home. Condolences maybe directed to the family at www.snidermemorialfh.com Steven John RIx was born on January 24, 1952 in Omaha, NE to John and Thelma (Mackeprang) Rix. He attended school in Clearwater and graduated with the Class of 1970. After graduation he attended the University of Lincoln for 1 year. Then on November 24, 1971 he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged on November 18, 1974. On April 21, 1984 was married to Kimberley Wildman at Clearwater. Steve worked on the farm, Road Supervisor, County Supervisor, and was with FEMA for 12 years. He was a member of the Clearwater American Legion Post #267 where he was the Commander for years, and a member of Holt County Shooting Club. Steve enjoyed his horses, Nebraska Football, haying, tinkering in his shop, cows, cooking so he could entertain, loved helping people, and especially spending time with his grandkids. Survived by his children: Heidi McConnell of Neligh, NE, Brett Rix and fiancé Randee Wright of Plainview, NE, and Aleacia Rix of Neligh, NE. Grandchildren: Mason and Alyx Siems; Derek Rix; Tyson Rix; Ethan Rix; Sydni McConnell; Weston and Hannah Hofeldt; Brittney and Logan McConnell. Sisters: Kathy (Steve) Ahlers of Clearwater, NE and Sandy (Mike) McMullen of Tekamah, NE. Brother-in-law, Eddie (Tricia) Wildman of Palmer, AK. Mother-in-law, Marge Wildman of Neligh, NE. Several nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Baby brother in-infancy, Jerome David Rix.
