Alice J. Rittscher

Funeral Service for Alice J. Rittscher age 80 of Clearwater, NE will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE with Rev Peter Jark-Swain, Officiating.  Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, NE.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home.  Alice passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Battle Creek Community Pride Care Center.  Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorial.com

     Alice Joan Rittscher was born on July 11, 1943 to Alfred and Clara (Scott) Brodersen at Norfolk, Nebraska.  She attended Neligh High School and graduated with the Class of 1962.  She attended Wayne State College.  On July 19, 1964 she was united in marriage to Allan Rittscher at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Neligh.  They made their home South of Clearwater.  She worked at the Antelope Clerk of District Court, she also worked at Coast-to-Coast in Neligh.  She became Allan’s helper in many ways by cooking many meals, handy pack coolers, and taking care of sickly animals.  Alice enjoyed many things: Diet Pepsi, slot machines, trips to Vegas, camping, and watching football at all levels.  Alice enjoyed playing pranks and may have involved a few fireworks. Spending time with her grandkids and spoiling them was the best thing in her life.  Alice was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and a reader.

     Survived by sons Kevin and wife Sonia Rittscher of Elgin, NE and Ryan and wife Rachel Rittscher of Sheridan, WY;  grandchildren Hannah and Travis Martin of Arvada, CO; Whitney Rittscher of Denver, CO; Gracie and fiancé Adam Dreger of Lincoln, NE; Trey Rittscher of Elgin, NE; Raine Rittscher of Ceresco, NE; and Rafe Rittscher of Sheridan, WY. Brothers and sisters Bendt and Arlene Brodersen of Bend, OR; Ruth Brodersen of Aurora, CO; brother-in-law Ronnie and Judy Rittscher of Gothenburg, NE; sister-in-laws Sharalyn and Rich Wells of Neligh, NE.  Shirley Rittscher of Elgin, NE and Brenda Rittscher of Clearwater, NE.  

     Preceded in death by parents; husband; and brother Tom Brodersen.
