Memorial Service for Bradley L. Schumacher age 63 of Plainview, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026 with Pastor Joan Alexander, Officiating, at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 12 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plainview. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview is handling the arrangements. Bradley passed away at his home on January 8, 2026 in Plainview. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorial.com

Bradley Layne Schumacher was born on April 29, 1962 to Gerald “Herm” and Carol (Carstens) Schumacher in Osmond, NE.
He attended school in Plainview, NE and obtained his GED while serving in the Army.
Brad was united in marriage to Melanie Newill at The Plainview United Methodist Church on May 11, 1984. Brad and Mel lived their lives in Plainview.
Brad was a man of many trades, and worked at several jobs around the area. He was a welder and fabricator. He helped farmers with harvest and all kinds of mechanical and automotive repair. He was always willing to help with a project and was self employed for some time.
Brad spent a lot of time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going for rides through all kinds of recreational areas. His favorite place to go was Grove Lake. He spent time at home gardening and tinkering around in the garage. Brad was always one of the loudest supporters of his daughter Kelly’s sports teams. He had a huge record collection and loved making mixed tapes for his friends and family. Brad enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was always down for a good conversation and anything to do with food.
He is survived by the life partner and love of his life, Melanie, daughter, Kelly, and siblings: Jodi and Steve Beaudette of Plainview, Chad and Colleen Schumacher of Plainview, and Jerry and Brenda Schumacher of Bellevue.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald “Herm” and Carol Schumacher; grandparents, Kris and Lloyd Carstens and Herman and Fern Schumacher; brother and sister-in-law, John and Bev Mack; nephew, Chris Schumacher.
