David William Grosze was born on November 26, 1959 to Herbert and Norma (Brening) Grosze in Bridgeport, Nebraska.  The family lived on a farm near Gurley before moving to Scottsbluff.  From there they moved to Othello, Washington, then back to Scottsbluff where he graduated from Scottsbluff Sr. High School in 1978.  He then served in the National Guard for a few years before going to Culinary school.

Through the years Dave worked several jobs including as a cook, janitor, construction work, and at hog confinements and other agricultural positions.  He was a man of many talents and hobbies.  He liked hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, watching the Huskers and doing puzzles.  He also enjoyed watching and photographing sunsets. He always showed his love of the red, white and blue everywhere and displayed his outdoor décor and lights for every holiday.

Dave enjoyed his tropical fish. They were very special to him.  He was also so proud of his tiger statues and pictures.  He loved spending his winters putting new tiger puzzles together, then framing them for his walls to the point he was running out of wall space! When the weather was nice you could always find him outside tending to his plants or planting new flowers.  Dave also loved his indoor plants.  He was always starting new plants and giving them to friends and family.

Dave shared his great sense of humor with everyone he knew.  He was always kind and warm hearted even to the point of welcoming a stranger with a friendly smile and a “hey…….what’s up,” who mistakenly visited him until he realized he was in the wrong hospital room! His nurses were his “angels of mercy” as he called them and his reply to the doctors was always “it’s in God’s hands.” Dave will be so greatly missed by his family and friends.  He left us all way too soon, but in our sadness we take heart knowing he’s walking with God and celebrating true victory.

He is survived by his mother, Norma Grosze of Ewing, sisters Trudy (Lyle) Spangler, Barb (Kevin) Kruntorad and Karen (Chad) Napier, all of Ewing, and Sandy (Mike) Risor of Albion, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert William Grosze.

Dave passed away at the age of 64 years and 4 days.
