Deborah Ann (Lynd) Higgs, 63, of Plainview, Nebraska passed away on September 19, 2024 at 5:53 pm in UNMC of Omaha.

Debbie was born November 16, 1960 in Spokane, Washington to Thomas and Caroline (Foster) Lynd. She later moved to Woodland, California. She attended Ruble High School, where she met her husband, Dwayne Higgs. They married on February 18, 1978. On July 8, 1978 they welcomed their first child, Anthony Lee Higgs. Their second child, Daniel Cain Higgs, was welcomed on February 2, 1985. Debbie and her family moved along the west coast before settling down in Nebraska. After the loss of their son, Daniel, Debbie and Dwayne moved to Royal, Nebraska to be close to their son, Anthony, and his family. Debbie was Dwayne’s caregiver for many years after his accident in 2000. She also cared for her nieces Rachel, Megan, Michelle, and Tiffany, during this time. She was a domestic violence advocate, and hoped to make a difference in this world. Debbie was known for her kind heart and compassion. She was known for her love of monkeys, daisies, bells, Santa, love of rock & roll (especially Janis Joplin and Ozzy Osbourne), turquoise, and fashionable 60’s style and aura. She loved to share stories and spend quality time with her family. Debbie was an empathetic person, who became a maternal figure to many. She was known mostly for her optimistic outlook on life, her strength, as well as being adventurous and loving.

Debbie is preceded in death by her husband Dwayne Higgs, her son Anthony Higgs, her son Daniel Higgs, brother Thomas Lynd, and parents Thomas (Dino) and Caroline (Sue) Lynd.

Debbie is survived by her fiancé Anthony (Guido) Libetti, grandchildren Austin and Raven Higgs, great-grandson Ciel Vaughan-Higgs, brother Gerald (Fran) Lynd, Sister Patsy Robinson, Daughter in law Tanya Higgs, brother in laws Estel (Connie) Higgs, Victor (Denise) Higgs, Kip (Shelley) Higgs, James (Sherri) Hero, sister in laws Gail (Josh) Adams, Lana Higgs, and Janette Higgs, her nieces Rachel (Tou) Vang, Megan (Vince) Robinson, Michelle Robinson, Tiffany Robinson, Breanna Lynd, Jessica Lynd, Amy Lynd, her nephews Eugene Lynd and Jeremy Lynd, and her lifelong best friend Karen Rice, as well as many more family and friends.
