Funeral Services for Delores C. Hankla age 87 of Clearwater, NE were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Clearwater, NE with Father James Kramper. Music was provided by Carol Thiele. Burial was in Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Pryjmak, Dan Pryjmak, Jeff Hankla, Jeremy Hankla, Nick Pelster, Grant Pelster, Christopher Hynes, and Jacob Hankla. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with 7:00 Wake Service at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling the arrangements. Memorial to: Catholic Charities Delores Catherine Hankla was born on March 31, 1929, to August W. and Bertha C. (Aschoff) Eilers at their farm home east of Neligh, NE. She attended school and graduated from Tilden High School with the Class of 1947. On June 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Orval E. Hankla in Tilden. They celebrated 66 years together. She taught school south of Tilden for three years. Delores was head cook at the nursing home in Neligh for many years and also cooked at the Neligh Senior Center. She was a member of St. Theresa Rosary Sodality. Delores enjoyed quilting, cooking/baking, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Orval, and children: Kathleen and husband Peter Pryjmak of Greensburg, PA; Steven and wife Linda Hankla of Clearwater, NE; Clarice and husband John Hynes of Crawford, NE; Mark Hankla of Lincoln, NE; Lynn and husband Jay Pelster of Omaha, NE; and Brian and wife Mary Hankla of King George, VA. She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters are Mary Ann Hladovcak of Neligh, NE; Richard and wife Martha Eilers of Neligh, NE; and Carol Jean and husband Butch Mortensen of Wakefield, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert (Bob) Eilers of Omaha, NE.
