Donald Harold Davids was born on October 6, 1933 to Harold and Barbara (Ernst) Davids at Creighton, Nebraska and passed away July 30, 2025 at the Plainview Manor. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Ludger's Catholic Church in Creighton. He attended rural country schools, later receiving his high school GED in the military. He served in the United States Army from January 19, 1954 until January 18, 1956.

On July 5, 1958 he was united in marriage to Judith Loy Andersen at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainview. They were the parents of 3 children, Kim, Lori, and Mike. Don was a lifelong farmer. Don and Judy enjoyed dancing in their early years. He enjoyed hunting and doing woodworking for his family. Don loved going on bus trips, visiting with everyone about anything and everything, playing with his grandsons, and reading Louis L'Amour westerns. Don received the Outstanding Farmer Award in 1967 from the Plainview Chamber of Commerce. He also received a State Conservation award for planting trees and was a 50 year member of the Plainview American Legion Post 148. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and served on the parish council.

Don lost both of his arms just below the shoulder in a farm accident November 5, 1998, but still had an excellent outlook on life and didn't feel sorry for himself. He always said that "you can make it a good day or a bad day", and he chose to make it a good day.

Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Judy Davids of Plainview. His two daughters: Kim and Randy Wolken of Plainview, and Lori Langston and special friend Don Sparr of Norfolk. Grandchildren: Doug Langston and fiancé Kayle Getzschman of Plainview, Brent and Erika Wolken of Pierce, Ethan and Carson Davids: stepgrandchildren, Caleb Neuring, Caitlyn and Calvin Hart. Great grandchildren: Jayda Koenig, Alexandria, Branson, Oliver, Cassandra Getzschman; Brayden, Carter, and Grayson Wolken. Sister, Sandy Springer of Osmond; brother-in-law Jerry Hoffart of Plainview; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lyle and Mert Andersen of Show Low Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, son Mike Davids, and grandson Adam Wolken, sister Shirley Hoffart, brother and sister-in-laws Gary Springer, Bill (Irene) Andersen, Mardelle Andersen, Brigetta Andersen, Bob (Hildegard) Andersen, and Everett (Jan) Andersen, Lois (Jim) Reed, and Peggy (Don) Peters.
