Doris L Ober

March 10, 1922 — October 26, 2018

Funeral services for Doris L. Ober age 96 of Bloomfield will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 30th at the United Methodist Church in Plainview.  Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday, October 29th at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview.  Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.  Doris passed away October 26, 2018 at the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Manor.

Doris LaVonne Stork Ober was born March 10, 1922 at the Stork farm home, northwest of Madison, NE to Robert and Bertha (Volk) Stork.  The family moved to Plainview, NE when Doris was 7 years old.

She attended school in District 33 and was a member of the school board when her sons attended there.

She belonged to the Homemaker’s Club and Busy Bee Clubs in Neligh.

Doris married Clayton W. Ober on November 30, 1941 and to this union, 2 sons were born, Allen and Lon.  Doris and Clayton farmed all their lives around Plainview, then in December of 1954 they bought a farm at Neligh where they resided all of their married life.  In their retirement, they spent winters at their retirement home in Mesa, AZ.  In later years after Clayton’s death, Doris lived in Neligh, Norfolk, and then Bloomfield.

Doris died Friday October 26, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield at the age of 96 Yr. 7 Mo. 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha (Volk) Stork, husband Clayton W. Ober, son Lonald Ober, sister and brother-in-law LaVerne and Eugene Atherton, and a brother-in-law Dale (Si) Barth.

She is survived by son Allen & (Norma) Ober of Bloomfield;  grandchildren Craig Ober, Ft. Worth, TX;  Scott Ober ( Sarah) of Bloomfield;  Brian Ober (Betsy) of Little Elm, TX;  Alisha Ober; Nathan Grennan of Redwood City, CA;   Great Grand Children;   Ashley Byers(Jonathan) Cory Ober & Quentin Ober;  as well as several great, great grandchildren.

Sisters; Darline Bonge (Larry) of Plainview; and Bonnie Barth of Stanton, NE; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Services were 2pm Tues. October 30, United Methodist Church in Plainview. Rev Lynde Linde and Rev. Joel Warren officiated, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery at Plainview.  Bearers were the Grandchildren; Scott & Sarah Ober, Brian & Betsy Ober, Alisha Ober, Nathan Grennan.     Ashburn Funeral Home, Plainview was in charge.
