Earl Filsinger age 87 of Elgin, NE were at 10:00 am Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Snider Memorial Funeral Home, in Clearwater with Rev. Daniel Feusse, Officiating. Music was provided by Christopher Filsinger, Soloist and Celine Filsinger, Organist. Burial was in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery in Elgin. Pallbearers were Kevin Filsinger, Marvin Filsinger, Gene Filsinger, David Filsinger, Daniel Filsinger, Terry Sanne. Visitation was Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 6 - 8 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home. He passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Earl William Filsinger was born on January 6, 1919 at Clearwater, NE to Michael and Minnie (Dierkop) Filsinger. He grew up and attended District #100 School. He worked for a farmer for 2 years before buying his own truck and began trucking from 1939 to 1943. Earl married Delores Hicks in 1943 and the couple then moved to Central City and farmed in Merrick County. He then moved to Elgin and farmed several places then moved to Comstock, NE but, to later return to Elgin and he recently became a resident of Neligh Nursing Home. Earl loved farming, windmills, and tractors. He was baptized and confirmed Lutheran. He is survived by brothers: Orville and wife Bernice Filsinger of Sidney, NE and Otto and wife Gladys Filsinger of Independence, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Anna, and brothers Arnold and Arthur.
