Funeral services for Helen Marie (Hansen) Kumm, 94, of Osmond will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 9 ^th , at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond.  Rev. Glen Emery will officiate.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Osmond.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M., Monday, July 8 ^th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Helen passed away July 4th, 2019 at the Plainview Manor.

Helen Marie was born on December 17th, 1924 on a farm near Newcastle, NE to Albert & Ida Hansen.  She was baptized on August 16th, 1925 and confirmed in 1944 at Eden Valley Church in Plainview, NE.  She graduated from Laurel High School.  She was married to Norman Willis Kumm on March 5th, 1944 in a country church parsonage at Eden Valley Church.  Norman and Helen had four children, Paul, Alan, Nancy and Debra.  Norman and Helen lived on a farm northwest of Osmond for 44 years before retiring and moving into their home in Osmond.

Helen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and active in several organizations, including Ladies Aid and the Ladies Quilting Group.  Helen loved to quilt and made many quilts for her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #326 and spent many hours at the Senior Center helping with meals, playing cards and visiting.  Helen loved her flowers and spending time with family and her grandchildren.  When she was younger, Norman and her loved to dance and she belonged to a ladies bowling team.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Norman; her brothers, Howard Hansen & Dick (Ore) Hansen; sister, Dorothy French; a son, Alan; a daughter, Debra; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kumm and Son-in-laws, Mike Clausen & Roger Buss.

She is survived by a son, Paul Kumm of Osmond; a daughter Nancy Schlote and husband Bruce of Plainview; a sister Tootie (Glendora) Lipp of Laurel; grandchildren Brian Kumm of Norfolk, Gregg Kumm of Osmond, Tracy Cook of Nixa, MO., Alisa Brunsing of West Point, Aaron Schlote of Omaha, Kim Chilvers of Omaha, Neil Clausen of Wausa, Brent Clausen of Bennington, and Kendra Suhr of Wausa; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
