Hoyt D Sirek

Graveside services for Hoyt D. Sirek, age 99, of Orchard, NE. will be held at 2:00 P.M Wednesday, May 8th at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.  Pastor Janene Reynolds will be the officiant.  Hoyt passed away May 3rd at the Plainview Manor.  Ashburn Funeral Homes in Plainview in charge of arrangements.

Hoyt D. Sirek was born to Ladimer (Lottie) and Fern (Loney) Sirek in Plainview, NE.  Hoyt attended Plainview Public School until he was drafted after his junior year of High School in 1943.  Hoyt went overseas serving in the Pacific Theater.  He was amongst the first troops to land in Japan September 1945 and was discharged from the United States Army in December 1945.

Hoyt married Arelene Huwaldt on August 17, 1947 and to this union two children were born, Gordon & Roger.  The family moved from Plainview to Orchard in 1956.  Hoyt spent most of his time in the Construction Business.

Hoyt was a member of the American Legion for over 75 years and a Mason for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife Arlene, of 77 years, two sons, Gordon and Roger (Lori) Sirek, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and sister in-law Susan Huwaldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in laws Walter and Mabel Huwaldt, sister Phyllis and husband Vernon Wachholtz, and brother-in-law Bill Huwaldt.
