Jason William Vanostberg

April 28, 1975 — May 2, 2021

Memorial Services for Jason VanOstberg will be held May 8, 2021 at 11am at Zion Lutheran Church, Plainview, NE.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated by the family to help cover some of Jason’s expenses incurred during his hard fought battle with cancer.

Jason VanOstberg passed away peacefully in his sleep after his long battle with cancer on May 2, 2021. He left us at the young age of 46.

Jason was a simple, kind hearted man that would do anything for anyone. He was quiet and not a man of many words but when you got to know him, he could definitely talk an ear off.  He enjoyed the outdoors and small town living.

Some of his favorite things were horses/horseback riding, hunting, cooking, making custom woodwork furniture and his beloved dog Thor. He valued family, and friends, especially his life long friend David Gloe. Jason wasn’t shy of hard work, helping anyone in need, or giving his siblings a hard time. His sisters especially. He learned that skill at a young age & refined his art up until his last day on earth. He will truly be missed and we will forever feel the void in our heart.

He was preceded in death by mother, Judith K. VanOstberg. He leaves behind his father Eric VanOstberg, stepmom Sharon VanOstberg and five siblings Mike Maager, Lorrie Weaver, Deena Ruppert, Meldean Hilton, and Sonja Caballero.

Jason loved to grill & set fireworks off in the summer with all of his nieces and nephews. It won’t be the same without him. He leaves behind 3 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews. He was the favorite uncle in the family to all of our kids.

We love you Jason & you are forever with us in our hearts & souls.
