June "Kay" Katherine Tadken

Graveside service for June “Kay” Tadken age 81 of Orchard, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery Orchard, Nebraska Father John Norman, officiating. Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Orchard is handling the arrangements. Kay passed away on February 2, 2026 at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, Nebraska. June Katherine Tadken was born June 21, 1944 in Tilden, Nebraska to James and June (McKnight) Gillespie. She graduated from Tilden High School with the Class of 1960. Kay continued her education by going to nursing school getting her RN degree in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked for the Tilden Hospital for many years. She was united in marriage to Larry Tadken on April 17, 1971 in Tilden, Nebraska. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandsons. Kay liked to play cards and having cats and dogs. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Clearwater.

Survived by her husband, Larry of Orchard, NE. Daughters, Diane Tadken of Orchard, NE; Janette Tadken of Ft. Worth, TX; and son David and wife Sara Tadken of Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren Weston and Alex Tadken. Sister, Jeanie and husband, Sam Weiland of Norfolk, NE.
