Graveside Service for Loren D. Hansen age 86 of Plainview, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview, NE. Burial will be in the Danish Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Plainview American Legion Post #148. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview. Loren passed away on February 22, 2026 at Plainview Hospital. Loren was born November 23, 1939 in Plainview, Nebraska and graduated from Plainview High School in 1958. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army, serving honorably from 1958 - 1962. Loren served his country with honor and dedication. His service reflected a lasting legacy of patriotism, as Loren was an active and very faithful member of the American Legion Post 148 of Plainview, where he always participated in the Veteran's Day programs and the Honor Guard.

After his military service, Loren returned home to farm with his dad in rural Plainview. On August 3, 1968 he married the love of his life, Jeanette (Peterson) Hansen. To this union, one son was born, David Wayne Hansen. Loren, Jeanette, and David settled on a farm outside of Plainview until 2005 when they moved to a home in Plainview. Loren and David then moved to the Plainview Manor/Whispering Pines Assisted Living in 2024, where David currently remains a resident.

Loren was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette in 2018; his parents, Alfred and Eleanor Hansen; his sister, Susan Hansen; nephew Mark Houston; and other beloved family members who have now welcomed him to his eternal home.

Loren is survived by his son, David Hansen; his sister, Linda (Chuck) Houston; several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Loren's life was a testament to his unwavering love and faithfulness to his family and country. Loren learned to enjoy the simple things in life. Some of his most enjoyable moments were conversations over a cup of coffee or a fish fry on a Friday night at the local restaurants with his family. Loren will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
