Lorraine "Lorrie" A. Hendrix
Lorrie passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Memorial services for Lorraine A. “Lorrie” Hendrix, 65, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at First Baptist Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Jason Owens will officiate, with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Snider Funeral Home of Clearwater is in charge of the arrangements.
Lorraine Ann Hendrix was born March 3, 1961, in Nortolk, NE, to her parents, Donald and Diane (Gokie) Paulsen. She grew up and attended West Point High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1979.
Lorrie married Raymond "Dean" Garver in 1981. Together they welcomed 2 children; Michael and Kerry Garver. She later married Calvin H. Hendrix on March 2, 1991, and embraced his 9 children, cherishing the years they shared together.
Lorre worked as a paraprofessional for Norfolk Public Schools and later as a Kitchen Supervisor at the Juvenile Detention Center in Madison, NE. She had a passion for animals, especially horses and loved her family intensely. She was deeply involved in Stanton County
4-H and her church, 1st Baptist Church of Norfolk, NE. She will be remembered for her quick wit, unwavering love of her family and, of course, an ice-cold Diet Coke.
Lorrie is survived by her sister, Tammy Buckendahl; her 2 children, Michael Garver and Kerry Mutschelknaus (spouse, Alex); 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Brock, Jullian, Easton, Cohen and Riggin; nephew, Jeff Paulsen (spouse, Angela) and their children Jake & Jace, niece, Heather Buckendahl; nephew, Nick Buckendahl (spouse, Sandi; stepchildren; and several Paulsen & Gokie relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don & Diane Paulsen; brother, Donnie Paulsen; husband, Calvin Hendrix; niece, Becky Paulsen; special friend Jerry Vaughn.
Lorrie's greatest joy in life was her family. Her love and strength will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
