Funeral Services for Marion K. Goetzinger age 85 of Plainview, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 13, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Glen Meyer and Pastor Brian Bucklew officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview is handling the arrangements. Marion passed away on May 6, 2026 at Plainview Manor. Condolences be directed to the family at www.snidermemorial.com

Marion was born December 2, 1940 in rural Plainview to Fred and Audrey Schwanebeck, she was baptized on December 29, 1940 at Stark Valley Lutheran, rural Plainview. and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview on March 25, 1956. She graduated from Plainview High school in 1958. On August 17, 1959 she married the love of her life Charles Goetzinger. They lived in Plainview for a few years until they purchased a farm South of Plainview. Together they had a dairy and later raised feeder pigs. Marion attended one year at Wayne State Teacher College 1960 and then taught 2 years in the Country School at Bazille Mills. In 1972, She started as a PARA at Plainview Public Grade School, working with Special needs children, she retired in 2019. She kept in touch with many of the students she had taught up until her death; she continued friendships with several of her co-workers.
Marion was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving in offices in the LWML and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed reading and belonged to the Plainview Book Club for several years. Baking cakes and pies was another talent she shared with her family.
Marion is survived by her siblings, Ron (Londa) Schwanebeck of Plainview, NE; Warren (Joan) Schwanebeck of Monroe, NE; Linda (Kerry) Martinez of Norfolk, NE. Brother-in-law Ray Snodgrass. Niece, Michele (Mike) Johnson; Melissa (Matt) Bixemann; Jenny (Tim) Hellbusch; Jayne Allen. Nephews; Nathan (Tara) Schwanebeck; David Schwanebeck; Brian (Ali) Schwanebeck; Mike (Sharla) Snodgrass. Great nieces and nephews: Preston Schwanebeck, Tyson Schwanebeck, Jaxon Schwanebeck, Charleigh Schwanebeck, Mikey Johnson, Lilly Johnson, Jake Schwartz, Max Schwartz, Gage Schwartz, Tessa (Keith) Umstead and family; Sophie Carroll and family, Andrew (Megan) Olson and family; Amanda (John) Avidano and Family; Mason (Erin) Allen and Family; Cole Dohmen; Derrik Snodgrass and family; Colby Snodgrass and family; Christin (Zach) Wright. Many cousins and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles on September 12, 2007; baby sister Jean Marie; brother Lloyd; sister Bev Snodgrass; in-laws Janet Schwanebeck; nieces Rebecca and Stephanie Schwanebeck.
