Martha A. Drayton

Memorial services for Martha Drayton age 72 of Orchard, Nebraska will be held Saturday, May 6 ^th at 10:00 at the United Methodist Church in Orchard.  Martha Anne Drayton passed away unexpectedly April 6 ^th , 2018 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Ne.

Martha was born in Manhattan, Ks May 14 ^th ,1945 the daughter of Clare and Georgiana Porter. The family moved to Lincoln, Ne in 1947 where she lived until graduation from University High School. She attended the University of Missouri for three years and later graduated from Morehead State University. In 1966 she married Terry Drayton and in 1974 they moved to Orchard Ne from Moorhead, MN. where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Terry, two sons, David of Omaha, Scott and grandsons Adam and Wendel of Lincoln and a brother, Alan of Santa Barbara, Ca.

Martha will be missed by her family and a host of friends including lifelong friendships developed while growing up in Lincoln and later ones developed in Orchard and Palm Desert Ca.

She loved working as a volunteer and board member of the Orchard Public Library for many years. She also enjoyed her time spent on behalf of the Orchard United Methodist Church and as a volunteer at the annual Indian Wells Tennis Open in Ca.  Martha was avid reader and art enthusiast who enjoyed learning about art through monthly education classes at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.
